FORM Arcosanti Diary

I went to a desert retreat in an experimental city called Arcosanti for an intimate music gathering. I was blown away by the stunning designs of the buildings and the concept of the city. Arcosanti was built by architect Paolo Soleri in 1970 as an arcology which is a combination of architecture and ecology. His focus was on minimizing human impact on the environment and creating a compact self-sustaining community.

The music event was curated by the band Hundred Waters and because less than 1000 people attended, the setting was intimate and unique. I loved that I was actually able to enjoy the music and not feel overwhelmed by the crowds like in other heavily populated and commercialized music festivals that we go to. The line up included a secret performance by Skrillex, The Antlers, Tokimonsta, Hundred Waters, How to Dress Well, and Moses Sumney. You would always run into some form of art piece or performance happening somewhere and everyone was welcome to contribute or participate. The weekend sanctuary felt surreal and I left feeling so inspired by the gathering in this desert spaceland.
I'll be posting a recap on my Youtube channel on Wednesday so subscribe and tune in!
